Who we help
Children and infants
Wired and cannot settle. Meltdowns over nothing, fidgety at the desk, waking through the night, tummy aches and headaches. A small body that is finding it hard to switch off.
How it tends to show up
Does this sound like you?
Difficulty settling, in a child who has always been hard to settle
Waking through the night well past the age you expected it to stop
Big reactions to small things, and a long recovery afterwards
Restlessness at a desk or a dinner table
Recurring tummy aches or headaches your doctor has already looked at
A posture you have started noticing, particularly since school and a bag
What we look at in a child, and what we do not
We see children and infants at Aura, and the first thing worth saying is what a chiropractic assessment is and is not. It is a physical and neurological examination of how a child's spine moves and how their nervous system is regulating. It is not a diagnosis of a medical, developmental or behavioural condition, and it is not a substitute for your doctor or paediatrician.
So the assessment is deliberately narrow in what it claims and wide in what it looks at. We take a full history, including pregnancy, birth and the early months, because those are part of the physical story. We examine how the spine and the neck move. We look at posture, and at how a child sits, stands and carries a bag.
If anything in the history or the examination belongs with a doctor rather than with us, we say so at the appointment and we say so plainly. That happens, and it is a normal part of assessing children.
Settling, sleeping and the nervous system
The children parents most often bring to us are not in obvious pain. They are the ones who cannot come down: wired at bedtime, waking at two, undone by a change of plan, restless in a chair.
Dr Arthur Kaganovitch (Chiropractor) describes this as a small body finding it hard to move out of a stress response and back into rest. Children are not small adults, and their nervous systems are still developing, so what we are looking at is how readily that switch happens rather than any fixed measure of what it should be.
That is his clinical view, formed over years of practice. It is not a claim that chiropractic care treats sleep problems, behaviour, or any diagnosed condition, and we will not present it as one. What we can do is assess, measure, explain what we found in plain language, and be honest with you about what is and is not ours to help with.
How care for a child differs from care for an adult
This is the question parents ask first, and the answer is that it differs considerably.
The force used with a child is a fraction of what is used with an adult, and with an infant it is lighter again, closer to the pressure you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato. There is no twisting of a child's neck and no forceful technique. The examination itself is adapted to their age, their size and how comfortable they are on the day.
The other difference is consent and comfort. A child who does not want to be touched is not adjusted. We go at their pace, a parent stays in the room throughout, and nothing happens that has not been explained to both of you first.
What a first visit with a child looks like
It is one appointment, $99, ordinarily $189, and it is an assessment rather than a treatment session.
We take a full history with you, examine your child's spine and posture, and carry out a neurological examination appropriate to their age. Where a child will tolerate it, we also take heart rate variability and thermographic, skin-temperature measurements, which are painless and involve nothing more than sitting still for a short time.
Then we explain what we found, in language your child can follow as well as you. If we think care here is appropriate we will say what we would do and why. If we do not, we will say that instead, and point you toward whoever is better placed to help.
What we do
Measure first, then care for the cause
Most care treats the symptom. We measure the nervous system driving it, explain it plainly, then care for what we found.

Stage one: Book an initial consultation
One visit, $99, ordinarily $189. A full history and examination so we understand what your body has been carrying and for how long.

Stage two: Neurological scans and Report of Findings
Dr Arthur Kaganovitch (Chiropractor) explains all the different scans and results and comes up with a bespoke, unique plan for your needs.

Stage three: Nervous system first chiropractic care
Specific, gentle adjustments directed at what the scans and examination found, re-measured against your own baseline so you can see what has shifted.
Your first visit
What the $99 assessment includes
$99, ordinarily $189. New patients only, one per person, no obligation to continue.
- Full case history
- Spinal examination
- Posture analysis
- Neurological examination
- Heart rate variability (HRV) measurement
- Thermographic (skin-temperature) scans
- Referral for spinal imaging (X-ray) if clinically indicated
Any imaging is charged by the imaging provider, not by Aura, and is not included in the $99.
Care for children uses very light pressure, is adapted to their age and size, and involves no forceful technique and no twisting of the neck. Before anything else, your child is examined and their history is taken, and if the examination raises anything that belongs with a doctor we refer rather than treat. If you have concerns, raise them at the appointment. We would rather answer them properly than have you sit on them.
Infants through to teenagers. What changes with age is the examination and the approach, not the standard of assessment.
No. Those are medical matters for your doctor or paediatrician, and we do not present chiropractic care as a treatment for them. What we assess is how your child's spine moves and how their nervous system is regulating. If your child has a diagnosed condition, keep them under the care of the doctor managing it.
Imaging is only ever referred when it is clinically indicated, and the threshold for imaging a child is high. Most children do not need it. If we do think it is warranted we will explain exactly why before referring, and any imaging is charged by the imaging provider rather than by Aura.
Yes, always. A parent or guardian stays with their child for the whole appointment.
The first visit is $99, ordinarily $189. It is for new patients only, one per person, as a one-off payment, with no obligation to continue. Any imaging is charged by the imaging provider and is not included in the $99.
No. Chiropractic is a primary contact profession in Australia, so you can book directly, with no referral needed.
